Mission Statement:
The mission of the Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation is to develop and support
statewide initiatives promoting historic preservation.
- The Trust assists in the implementation of state initiatives, educates the public about
the availability of existing programs, and raises public awareness of preservation issues.
- The Trust organizes educational conferences and hosts a variety of community workshops.
- The Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation works with state and local officials to
advance the growth and effectiveness of the preservation community in the public policy
arena.
- The Trust forms partnerships with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the
Wisconsin Historical Society, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce,
the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and other organizations to bring national programs to
Wisconsin.
- The Trust also coordinates the Ten Most Endangered Properties Program, which spotlights properties
threatened with alteration, neglect, or demolition, and has helped save many historic
sites.
